Position Overview: We are seeking a talented and motivated Cybersecurity Engineer with a TS/SCI clearance to support a variety of critical cybersecurity initiatives. As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and manage robust security solutions, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our systems and networks. You will apply your expertise to protect our client's systems from emerging threats while contributing to national security objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain security architectures and systems to protect critical infrastructure and sensitive data.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and risk analysis to identify potential threats and security weaknesses.
- Develop and implement security controls, policies, and procedures in compliance with industry standards (e.g., NIST, CIS).
- Perform incident response activities, including investigating security breaches and mitigating threats.
- Collaborate with system administrators, engineers, and developers to integrate security best practices into all stages of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to security alerts and incidents across the environment.
- Ensure security patches and updates are applied in a timely manner and manage security vulnerabilities.
- Conduct penetration testing and red team exercises to assess the security posture of systems and networks.
- Automate security processes and tools to improve efficiency and reduce manual efforts.
- Maintain and improve security documentation, including incident reports, security policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies, ensuring the organization’s defenses are continuously improved.
- Support the development of security training and awareness programs for staff and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizen with an active TS/SCI clearance (required).
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, or related roles.
- Strong understanding of security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, etc.) and compliance regulations.
- Experience with vulnerability management tools (e.g., Nessus, OpenVAS).
- Proficiency with security tools such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, encryption, and endpoint protection.
- Familiarity with cloud security (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and securing cloud environments.
- Hands-on experience with incident response and security monitoring.
- Knowledge of network protocols and services (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, etc.).
- Experience with scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess and mitigate security risks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or other relevant cybersecurity certifications.
- Experience with penetration testing and red teaming.
- Familiarity with security orchestration, automation, and response (SOAR) tools.
- Knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) security.
- Previous experience in government or defense cybersecurity projects.
